Step
01:
| Open
the digital photo file in your image editing application such as
Adobe Photoshop. Any version of the program will work. Other
image editing application will work. |
|
Step
02:
Go
to the "image size" window. For Photoshop applications
click:
Image > Image Size
or
Image > Resize > Image Size
With other image editing applications the procedure should be
similar. |
|
Step
03:
Make
sure "Constrain Proportions" is checked. This function
will maintain the photo's width to height ratio.
 |
|
Step
04:
Since
our target enlargement size is 16x20, first try entering 20 in
the Document Size Width space in the Image Size window.

You can see that is will not work for a 16x20 target size, as
the photo's height will only be 13.333 inches. |
|
Step
05:
Next
try entering 16 in the Document Size Height space of the Image
Size window.

You can see that this will work for producing a 16x20
enlargement, although you can also see that the enlarged photo
will need to be cropped 4" from the photo's width to create
a 16x20 print.
The 16x24 size would be the photo's uncropped, full image size.
This also tells you the digital photo is a "Wide Format
Digital Camera" photo, when checking the full image size in
the Print Size/Price chart on our Website. |
|
Important
Note:
After
checking your digital photo's sizes in the Image Size window, be
sure to click "CANCEL" when closing the Image Size
window. Otherwise you may
re-size or resample the original photo file, which could alter
the photos original image quality. |
|
You
could enter any dimensions in the width or height spaces of the Document
Size section just to see what different sizes your digital photo could
create. If your digital image file has been cropped, this sizing method
will also tell you exactly what sizes could be produced from the cropped
image.
Be sure to "CANCEL" the Image size window when closing, and if
you are sending us your digital image for enlarging and printing, the
finest quality print results will always come from the original
resolution digital file. No need to try and boost resolution by
resampling or re-sizing the file, as our advanced software systems will
do this with absolute original image quality results. |
